From the Juror:  This lovely landscape of the Tile Works is all about mood and atmosphere.  The colors are righ and striking and yet as seen in the distant trees, the painting also achieves a translucency and delicacy more typically seen in watercolor.  We are viewing a Mercer building that is of hard cement, but in this painting the softness of the day is what we take in.  Suggesting many details and still loose enough to be alive.  This is a beautifully done impressionistic landscape.
