I come across this hauntingly beautiful old barn in my travels quite often.  I always wonder what life was like for the creatures who inhabited these old barns and their caretakers.  Did they love the smell of the earth and hay?  Did the barn windows creak when opened?  Did a cat or sheep give birth there?  Did they have bats?  Were there secret places to explore, old ladders to take them to high levels of the barn?  Did they have children who ran barefoot through the grass?  Did they love their work or was it a burden?  What did they raise?  It leads me down this rabbit hole every time I see a beautiful old farm.  So no, a barn is never just a barn. It's a place of lives and stories lived with grace and determination. You can always find a barn or two available in my collection because they feel like home to me.
